The Association Chimie Du Végétal (ACDV) and Infopro Digital, in partnership with the IAR cluster, are once again combining their expertise in the field of plant chemistry for the 4th edition of the Plant Based Summit, which will be held from April 25 to 27, 2017, at Lille Grand Palais.
This major European conference brings together more than 75 exhibiting companies and 700 bioeconomy professionals from around the world (Europe, the US, Brazil, Japan, etc.). It offers manufacturers from all backgrounds a unique opportunity to gain a global strategic vision, learn about and compare the approaches taken by different players, and discuss innovation, co-development, and the operational implementation of bio-based products.
By organizing thisfourth edition in Lille, the European hub for the bioeconomy, the ACDV wanted to position this event at the heart of a French region that is a leader in biomass recovery, close to other countries that are driving forces in plant chemistry, such as Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, and the Netherlands, to make it more attractive. The Hauts-de-France region (Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Picardy, and Grand Est, particularly Champagne-Ardenne) is one of France's most economically dynamic regions in plant chemistry, thanks to its industries, competitiveness clusters, and, of course, its large farms.
20 targeted thematic conferences:
– Industry outlook, global context: bioeconomy – EU environmental policy to stimulate the market, sustainable sourcing, financing
– Transportation: new performance, lightness, emissions reduction, new materials
– Cosmetics: natural and bio-based ingredients
– Innovation: state of the art in the development and commercialization of new bio-based molecules and materials, new processes
– Construction: architecture , new materials, bio-based paint, wood and composite fiber
– Packaging: market and consumer adoption of bio-based packaging
– Surface treatment and detergents: ingredients , formulations, sustainable approach
With more than 100 leadingspeakers sharing their expertise, convictions, and strategies specific to their countries of origin (Brazil, the US, Canada, Finland, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Japan, etc.), the congress provides an international perspective on the development of plant chemistry (consequences of COP 21 and 22, finance, bioeconomy, sustainable sourcing, etc.).
The closing round table will bring together senior industry leaders (Pascal Juéry, Christophe Aufrère, Frédéric Gauchet, Mr. Takimoto, Marcel Lubben) to discuss the outlook for the sector. Industrial visits onthe third day will round off this immersive experience.
What are the prospects for the year that has just begun? It's a safe bet that 2017 will be full of successes and surprises, continuing on from last year. In any case, Plant Based Summit will once again contribute to the development of bio-based chemistry in a world where dependence on fossil resources will have to be reduced.
