MATWIN, the national open innovation platform in oncology and subsidiary of UNICANCER, is launching its new CALL FOR APPLICATIONS with some important changes:

  • Less restrictive and more efficient selection process
  • The program is open to European projects that involve at least one collaboration with a French team (academic or business).

In a nutshell, MATWIN is part of an open-innovation approach to develop translational research in oncology and facilitate the transfer of innovations to patients. Its main objective is to support innovative projects originating either from academic laboratories or start-ups by selecting those with the greatest potential for industrial development in order to promote the development of early partnerships (industrial, investors). To this end, the process relies on partnerships with major international laboratories involved in oncology (Amgen, AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Celgene, Genomic Health, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen, NanoString Technologies, Novartis, Pfizer, Pierre Fabre, Roche, Sanofi) and, more generally, all players interested in sourcing projects with strong industrial development potential.

By applying to MATWIN, depending on your needs, you will have access to:

  • world-class expertise (academic and industrial)
  • personalized coaching to help you optimize the structure and industrial focus of your project's R&D development plan
  • access to a network of partners (pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies, biotech firms, start-ups, investors, etc.) seeking projects with high transfer potential, with the possibility of certification by the MATWIN International Board
  • any additional funding from the organizations supporting your project

Starting this year, European teams that have established collaboration with a French academic team or company are also eligible to apply (see conditions in the attached document).
