Northwest Cancer Research Center
Created as part of Cancer Plan 1 in 2003, the Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest (CNO), under a Target and Performance Contract with the National Cancer Institute, has the mission of promoting the economic exploitation of its teams' research results by leveraging its in-depth knowledge of the field to identify innovation projects with high exploitation potential ("sourcing") and by directing its researchers towards the appropriate regional structures and programs.

Who is affected

This AMI is intended for projects involving at least one research team in each of the Normandy and Hauts-de-France regions.

This call for proposals is open to any researcher or hospital practitioner or consortium of researchers, hospital practitioners, and paramedical staff.

Project eligibility criteria

Potentially eligible projects include innovative projects that have already obtained preliminary data in all areas of oncology, such as (non-exhaustive list): diagnostic or prognostic approaches, medical devices, preventive or therapeutic approaches, as well as humanities and social science aspects of oncology. Proposed projects must ultimately be aimed at industrial transfer. This call for expressions of interest is open to all types of transfer (start-up projects, licensing, transfer of know-how, products, etc.).

The pre-selection committee will decide on the following eligibility criterion: at least one research teamin eachof the regions of Normandy and Hauts-de-France.

Selection criteria

Depending on the project's stage of development, a customized roadmap defining the support and financing for the project will be drawn up jointly by the CNO, NV, SATT Nord, and the project leader.

This roadmap will depend on the level of development of the project, the prospects for exploitation and transfer to the socio-economic world, and the absence of communication and publications enabling the generation of intellectual property (IP). Any funding envisaged in the roadmap must be validated in advance by the structure that will finance the project, in accordance with its internal process.

The application form must be sent between December 12, 2022, and April 30, 2023, inclusive, to the following email address:

Procedures for analyzing applications

The pre-selection committee will be made up of members from the SATT Nord, Normandie Valorisation, and Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest teams. It will evaluate applications based on the eligibility criteria outlined above. Project leaders will be notified of the results by email within one month of the pre-selection committee meeting.

The information provided will be subject to a confidentiality agreement.

The leaders of the pre-selected projects will then be supported by teams from SATT Nord, Normandie Valorisation, and Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest in order to consolidate all aspects of the project and establish a roadmap defining the support and financing for the project.
