Fabrice Lefebvre was appointed president of SATT Nord during the board meeting held on June 21, 2018.
Succeeding Norbert Benamou, Mr. Lefebvre took up his duties today. Aged 51, Fabrice Lefebvre is a chemical engineer (ECPM), holds a PhD in chemical sciences from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, and has a special degree in management from the Solvay Business School.
From 1996 to 2001, he held the position of R&D engineer and then Deputy Director of CREED, the VEOLIA Group's research center, where he was responsible for managing R&D projects for several subsidiaries.
In 2001, he took over as General Manager of several profit centers within the SARP Group, including Ecopur, which was created on the basis of technologies patented at CREED. He was responsible for its development, economic profitability, and the establishment of several sites in France and abroad until 2015.
In 2008, he also took over as Technical and Innovation Director of the SARP group, with the aim of creating a dynamic for promoting internal innovation but also to forge external partnerships with public research centers and start-ups, in order to develop more efficient and ergonomic tools and work equipment, as well as new services for local authorities and industry, notably by introducing connected objects and robotics.
In 2015, he left Sarp to become Deputy CEO and take over as Director of Operations/Projects at Orège, a start-up that had grown into an SME specializing in the development of disruptive technologies for sludge conditioning and complex effluent treatment.
He actively contributed to the development and implementation of new, innovative, and patented solutions on an international scale (Europe, United Kingdom, USA/Canada) until his appointment as President of La SATT Nord in 2018.
For Fabrice Lefebvre, the new president of SATT Nord: "The outstanding level of excellence of research and higher education institutions in Hauts-de-France and Champagne-Ardenne represents significant potential for creating both economic and societal value based on the innovations of their researchers. With the SATT Nord teams, and drawing on my experience in creating value from research in cleantech, my goal is to rapidly grow revenues from technology transfers by bringing together financing and entrepreneurial players to ensure SATT Nord's economic sustainability and create many jobs in the region. I want to put SATT Nord on a growth trajectory that will enable it to strengthen its position as a leading regional player in research commercialization.
