On Monday, May 13, SATT Nord and ENSAIT (the National School of Textile Arts and Industries) signed a partnership agreement to strengthen ENSAIT's research and development policy and enable SATT NORD to continue its work in transferring future technologies by strengthening its strategic partnership with this specialized engineering school.
ENSAIT has proven experience and expertise in the field of textiles, both in teaching and in research and partnerships with industry. Together with the University of Lille, it oversees the internationally renowned GEMTEX laboratory, which specializes in this field.
Within the scope of the missions entrusted to it by its shareholders, SATT NORD is involved in the entire technology transfer chain, from raising awareness among researchers, identifying tomorrow's innovations, evaluating invention disclosures, protecting valuable results, and negotiating sublicense agreements with companies. Its core business is the maturation of projects in technological, legal, and economic terms. Its objective is to participate in the economic development of the region by accelerating technology transfer to existing or start-up companies from the local, national, or international industrial fabric.
Two projects led by researchers at Gemtex (Textile Materials Engineering Laboratory) are already receiving support from SATT Nord.
- The TESTE project led by Fabien SALAUN, consists of developing microcapsules that release their active molecules through friction, for various fields.
- TEXACV Project: software tool for calculating the environmental impact of the entire garment production chain. Led by Ludovic KOEHL, Anne PERWUELZ, and Noémie PICHON, this project has received a French Tech Lab (BFT Lab) grant from Bpifrance and is being incubated at Un cube Axel (Euramaterials) as part of a business creation initiative.
For Fabrice LEFEBVRE, President of SATT Nord,"SATT Nord is delighted to be partnering with an engineering school of international renown in the field of textiles and the wide range of applications in which they are used. Its mission is to support ENSAIT, and more specifically GEMTEX, in protecting its inventions and promoting the research projects of its teams. "
"There has been an interesting development whereby applied research and the commercialization of research work have become very important issues today. This partnership with SATT Nord sends a very strong signal about the importance of commercializing research. Textile companies in the broad sense are very attentive to our capacity for innovation and are keenly interested in what we are doing." Eric DEVAUX, Director of ENSAIT
