SATT Nord, Société d’Accélération du Transfert de Technologies (Technology Transfer Acceleration Company) and CCI HAUTS-DE-FRANCE are joining forces to provide greater support to regional companies in the areas of innovation and research, signing a partnership agreement on March 25, 2021.

The CCI HAUTS-DE-FRANCE now has a key partner to help companies overcome strategic deadlocks in innovation and research.
For the past year, teams from the CCI HAUTS-DE-FRANCE and SATT Nord have been working together to help regional companies innovate in order to find new growth drivers or even modernize their organization. This joint effort has now resulted in this partnership.
Through its support services spread across the entire network of local CCIs, the CCI HAUTS-DE-FRANCE assists companies in their development to support the growth of the regional economy. It also supports a major program of actions to promote the development of the local and regional industrial fabric.

Within the scope of the missions entrusted to it by its shareholders, SATT NORD is involved in the entire technology transfer chain, from raising awareness among researchers, identifying and evaluating invention disclosures, protecting the exploitable results described in these invention disclosures, to signing sublicenses with companies. Its core business is the maturation of projects from a legal, economic, and technological standpoint. Its objective is to participate in economic development by accelerating technology transfer to
existing or start-up companies in the local, national, or international industrial fabric.

Their shared ambition: to facilitate the alignment of the research offerings of SATT Nord institutions with the innovation strategies of companies
In this context of uncertainty, it seems essential to promote technological innovation by bringing companies closer to the expertise of research laboratories in order to strengthen and accelerate projects led by companies through the exploitation of research results, technology transfers, and the co-maturation of projects.
This initiative brings together the worlds of public research, laboratories, and businesses by removing technological barriers, identifying innovation skills needs, finding financing solutions, and developing the business of companies in the Hauts-de-France region.
In practical terms, they will work to identify companies in need of assistance, help them define their needs, and connect them with researchers whose work may be relevant.

SATT Nord will be responsible for:
• Identifying the researcher(s) for companies that need to acquire new technologies
• Offering companies access to the skills and technologies of the laboratories within the scope of the 13 SATTs (representing 70% of French academic research), via the SATT network's scouting service. The technologies or laboratory skills deemed to be of interest to the company then give rise to collaboration, co-maturation, or licensing agreements.
• Identify expertise within the research organizations within the SATT network in areas or on topics of shared interest.

The role of the CCI will be:

• Identify the industrial innovation needs of companies in the Hauts-de-France region • Depending on the themes of the maturation projects reviewed by the SATT, CCI advisors specializing in the themes in question may be called upon to provide their technical and economic expertise in validating the potential for commercialization or the transfer directions envisaged. This request may lead to proposals for technology transfer partnerships and new commercialization directions that may be supported by SATT Nord; • Enable mentoring actions by advisors to support novice deep tech start-up founders and, in this context, offer the founders of these innovative research-based start-ups the opportunity to join the rev3 accelerator community;

Philippe Hourdain: " In this period of economic recovery, our companies need innovation more than ever. It is a major driver of competitiveness. I am delighted to see this partnership with SATT Nord come to fruition, which provides a very concrete way of connecting scientific and technical research stakeholders with businesses."

Fabrice Lefebvre: " I am very pleased to be able to sign this partnership agreement with the Hauts-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which builds on our already active collaboration with the CCI teams. Through this partnership, SATT Nord aims to strengthen its role as a trusted third party for companies in the region that wish to develop technological innovations to boost their competitiveness and growth.
