The aeronautics trade show closed its doors on Sunday evening with a record number of visitors! More than 2,300 exhibitors and nearly 150,000 trade visitors.
For researchers from MIS and INSSET, this was an opportunity, with the support of the SATT Nord teams, to showcase their projects in the fields of drones, energy conversion and storage systems, and nanosatellites. Numerous contacts with manufacturers and aerospace professionals were made at the UPJV stand by the SATT Nord team, who came to promote the laboratories and projects of the Picardy university.
MIS projects:
SAVER (Smart bAttery with active power conVERsion): Design, modeling, and development of a multifunctional active energy conversion system with storage for aerospace applications.
In the aeronautics sector, increasingly stringent requirements in terms of reducing pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions are prompting manufacturers and equipment suppliers to introduce new electrical systems for power supply and control on a massive scale, which will partially or totally replace pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.Recent developments in power electronics and microelectronics components are improving the performance, reliability, and volume/weight ratio of energy conversion and storage systems.
SEARCH:S.E.A.R.C.H.: Aerial Exploration System for Search and Mapping in Hostile Environments.
The objective of this program is to design drones capable of navigating in open or hostile environments and to develop embedded algorithms for detecting/locating people.
Drone stabilization project: Application of Robust Control for Stabilization of a QUADROTOR
INSSET project:
IP2SAT: IP2SAT nanosatellite (Cubesat: standardized 10cm x 10cm structure) which will take off with the Vega rocket bound for the lower atmosphere. This European Space Agency project involves dispersing 50 nanosatellites in the thermosphere to provide a detailed study of the atmosphere, temperature variations, and oxygen and ozone levels. This study is eagerly awaited by climatologists.
