A partnership agreement has just been signed between the SATT covering 144 public research institutions research institutions, and the Richelieu Committee, which brings together 300 Innovation and Growth Companies and targets an identified network of 4,000 EICs.

This agreement will facilitate public/private relations in the field of innovation and technology transfer. Innovation is a major challenge for the competitiveness of our companies and an essential component of public policy. More than ever, public research plays an important role in generating innovative technologies and competitive advantages, particularly for growing SMEs whose survival depends on their non-cost competitiveness.

 The observation that two worlds need to be able to collaborate, exchange ideas, and build together more effectively in order to contribute to the economic success of SMEs and mid-cap companies.

Objectives: to collaborate in order to generate future innovations, economic wealth, and jobs in France and Europe.

 The SATTs and the Richelieu Committee are thus entering into this partnership with the aim of:

  • facilitate and accelerate legal procedures between EICs and public laboratories;
  • draft and share a guide to mutual best practices;
  • better identify the needs of businesses and facilitate their involvement early on in maturation projects in order to ensure that SATT investments are relevant to industrial issues;
  • facilitate and accelerate the transfer of these innovations to EICs.

 An action plan has already been implemented with the following deliverables:

  • the creation of a baseline for contracts, reflecting balanced practices and conditions for both companies and laboratories;
  • organizing calls for mature projects focused on issues raised by SME groups and involving these SMEs in the various stages of the process;
  • the dissemination of technology offerings, by theme, presenting clear information on the competitive advantages offered.
