It is with great pleasure that the entire SATT Nord team invites you to explore its first Impact Report, a groundbreaking document that marks an important milestone in SATT Nord’s history.
For more than twelve years, SATT Nord has been facilitating the transformation of public research results into innovations that create value for businesses and society. Through this report, we sought to take a fresh look at our work, measuring not only what we accomplish, but above all what these achievements concretely contribute to our region from both a societal and economic perspective.
As you read on, you will discover how the technologies emerging from our laboratories are translating into commercialized innovations, newly created businesses, skilled jobs, and mobilized private investment—as well as solutions addressing major challenges in health, industry, the environment, and technological sovereignty.
Some notable results:
– 91 licensing agreements signed and 30 spin-offs created since 2012
– one-third of the transferred technologies are already on the market, as new products or services
– Up to €105 in revenue generated by our licensees for every €1 invested in maturation
– Up to €48 raised by our spin-offs for every €1 invested
– 14 technologies already on the market, in sectors ranging from healthcare to the environment
These results are, above all, the product of a collective effort, driven in particular by the teams at SATT Nord. They would not have been possible without academic researchers, first and foremost, nor without the constant trust and support of our shareholders, partners, the Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions, as well as all the stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem who contribute every day to fostering, developing, and transferring innovations stemming from public research.
Over the past decade, SATT Nord has demonstrated that public investment in technology maturation is beginning to generate significant economic and societal returns.
