Lille, June 24, 2020 – Already partners within French Tech Seed Hauts-de-France, the pre-seed financing program for start-ups, EuraTechnologies, France's leading incubator and accelerator, and SATT NORD, the Hauts-de-France and Champagne-Ardenne tool for promoting and accelerating the transfer of public research technologies to businesses, are deepening their partnership with the aim of accelerating the development of disruptive innovation projects.

"Deep Tech projects are essential to European technological independence and must therefore receive more support. This involves, among other things, promoting research institutes for their contribution to disruptive innovations. The partnership with SATT NORD is an important step in this direction," says Raouti Chehih, Chairman of the Executive Board of EuraTechnologies.

The purpose of this partnership is to:

  • Offer EuraTechnologies' "Start" and/or "Scale" incubation and/or acceleration programs to SATT NORD project leaders, facilitating access to these programs.
  • To promote the work of SATT NORD within the EuraTechnologies ecosystem more strongly, by setting up a permanent presence on campus and by having their representatives participate in various clubs and workshops related to technological topics;
  • Identify, at a very early stage, Deep Tech projects that are likely to join the EuraTechnologies ecosystem;
  • Enable EuraTechnologies to be identified as the entrepreneurship hub for startup project leaders from SATT Nord who have been selected by SATT as suitable for incubation at EuraTechnologies.
  • Facilitating meetings between start-ups in the SATT NORD ecosystem and EuraTechnologies.

"Our goal is to be able to welcome a growing number of deep tech projects into our programs in the European Metropolis of Lille each year. We are aiming for 10–15% of deep tech projects each year," explains Massimo Magnifico, Director of Operations at EuraTechnologies.

Designed as a vehicle for entrepreneurial opportunities, this partnership will cover the entire project development chain. From improving monitoring of new technologies to better coordination of the processes involved in bringing them to maturity, including support within the EuraTechnologies incubator or accelerator.

“Today, at SATT Nord, half of all technology transfers take place through the creation of a startup. Our partnership with Euratechnologies aims to provide the best conditions for deeptech startups to get them on the right track as early as possible, so that the startup team is formed and well prepared for entrepreneurial life when the technology is mature and ready to be commercialized. With the common goal of contributing to the economic development of our region," says Fabrice Lefebvre, President of SATT Nord.
