ThehumAInAlliance andUnirev3are organizing their first joint seminar onJanuary 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.in Villeneuve d'Ascq, at Centrale Lille.

During this day, researchers and business leaders will take stock of the challenges, experiences, and prospects of applying artificial intelligence to agriculture ("smart farming") and the industry of the future.

They will share their respective visions of the contributions of AI and how it helps to meet the challenges posed by the revolutions underway in these sectors: data collection, accuracy, reliability, organization, security, and traceability; the construction of learning algorithms adapted to provide simulation, prediction, and control models for industrial systems, connected objects, collaborative robots, human-machine interfaces with embedded AI, drones, etc.
These innovations enable manufacturers to optimize production, logistics, and work organization, customize products, automate certain low-value-added tasks, improve and deploy predictive maintenance on a larger scale, and design new generations of assistants and robots.

On the same day, eight doctoral students from universities and grandes écoles in the Hauts-de-France region, who were pre-selected after applying online, will give 180-second pitchesin plenary session on their thesis work on AI. Four "Artificial Intelligence and Third Industrial Revolution" prizeswill be awarded: the winners will receive €1,000 each, and the runners-up €500.
The jury, composed of members of the humAIn Alliance and unirev3, will reward the two best applications, including their research work on AI.
The audience awards will be presented at the end of the pitches and will be based on the oral presentations given by the doctoral students.
Topics covered include design, production, construction 4.0, robotics, agriculture of the future, energy management, distribution, logistics optimization, industrial diagnosis and prognosis, predictive maintenance, marketing/sales, servicization of industries, legal procedures, etc.
