On September 7, 2023, during the Chalons Fair,SATT Nord, Conectus, and Sayens signed a partnership agreement with the bioeconomy network supported by the B4C (Bioeconomy for Change) competitiveness cluster.
This partnership is part of the pooling program launched by the three SATTs in 2022, which aims to boost innovation and the impact of disruptive technologies resulting from public research in strategic regional sectors, including the bioeconomy.
This agreement will therefore enable these recognized players in innovation in the Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions to optimize the complementarity of their skills and actions in order to promote access for member companies of the B4C Cluster to the expertise and technologies of public research.
It lays the foundations for a partnership approach that enables:
- to strengthen the development of projects certified by the B4C network, contributing to the emergence of new economic activities,
- to strengthen SATT investments in proof of concept and accelerate technology transfers in B4C's sectors of activity.
1) Mobilization by SATTs of the industrial expertise of the B4C Cluster
As part of their maturing investments, SATTs seek to rely on industrial partners to co-develop technological proofs of concept, enabling them to subsequently benefit, in return for payment, from an option on an exclusive or non-exclusive license to exploit the technological developments achieved. In this way, the company secures its access to state-of-the-art technology while limiting its financial risk.
Depending on the theme of the maturation projects, B4C members and internal experts may be called upon to contribute their technical and economic expertise in validating the potential for commercialization or the proposed transfer directions. B4C will be able to identify among
its members those who are potentially relevant and distribute to them the opportunities offered by
the SATTs. These opportunities, if they materialize, constitute sources of competitiveness for B4C companies.
2) Targeted dissemination of technology and service offerings
SATTs will be able to seek support from B4C to disseminate technology and service offerings (e.g., deep tech diagnostics) from SATTs and research institutions to its network of industrial players in three regions (Hauts-de-France, Grand Est, and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté).
3) Support and co-financing of maturation/transfer programs.
SATT and B4C will explore opportunities to support and co-finance programs for the maturation and transfer of project results proposed by each of the three SATTs (Nord, Sayens, and Conectus).
