INVITATION Visit to waste energy sites

The process industry often goes hand in hand with significant heat loss. Thanks to the principle of Organic Rankine Cycles, most of this wasted energy could be recovered and converted into electricity...

To discover this low-temperature technology and its applications, the ENERGIE 2020 cluster is offering a tour of Belgian sites on April 21. 

On the agenda:

– 9:15 a.m.: Departure from Lille 

– 10 a.m.: Arrival at Ghent University, Kortrijk Campus 

  • Presentation of the ORC Next project (the next generation Organic Rankine Cycles)
  • Tour of the thermal laboratory, Laboratory specializing in cogeneration, Organic Ranking Cycles

- 12:00 p.m.: Lunch at Ghent University and departure for Roeselare

– 1:30 p.m.: Arrival in Roeselare: visit to MIROM, a waste treatment plant. discovery of an ORC exchanger in practice.

– 3 p.m.: Departure for Bruges, E-Rational/BEP Europe division, Tour of an ORC heat exchanger manufacturing plant.

  • Presentation of E-Rational/BEP Europe
  • Factory tour
  • Friendly drink

– 6:30 p.m.: Departure for Kortrijk, then Lille

The bus will make two stops on the outward and return journeys: one in Lille and the other in Kortrijk. Registration for the day is free for members of Pôle ENERGIE 2020. Non-members are asked to contribute €10 (covering lunch).
