The SATT Network and the INPI (French National Institute of Industrial Property) signed a three-year renewable partnership agreement at the SATT National Convention on October 21, 2016.
Through this agreement, the SATT Network and the INPI undertake to jointly implement actions at both regional and national level to strengthen intellectual property management with a view to further enhancing the value of research.
Three areas of focus have been defined around which their joint actions will be coordinated:
– Training for SATT teams, researchers, and companies
– Use of patent information
– Communication on IP.
These actions will be carried out at both the national and regional levels, with implementation in the latter case being handled by each SATT in coordination with the INPI regional delegation responsible for that SATT.
Among the actions provided for in this agreement:
- Simplified and encouraged access to INPI training courses
- The annual publication by the INPI of a map of technologies matured and promoted by SATTs.
- The creation of patent landscapes by the INPI for SATTs
- INPI interventions at major events in which SATTs are involved
