The Servier Group and the SATT Network have signed a one-year partnership agreement aimed at identifying early-stage therapeutic opportunities in Servier's areas of research: cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, immuno-inflammatory diseases, and neuropsychiatric diseases. SATT Paris-Saclay is the operator of the partnership for the SATT Network, which brings together 13 companies and represents 70% of French public research. This choice of partner is consistent with the establishment of the future Servier Paris-Saclay Research Institute in 2022 in the Paris-Saclay innovation cluster. This partnership is part of the Servier Group's commitment to boosting its research activities and strengthening partnerships to meet patients' expectations and therapeutic needs.

The SATT Network has established itself as a partner of choice for the Servier Group. Half of the SATT Network's investments are already in the healthcare sector, representing €200 million invested in 900 healthcare innovation development projects since 2012.

Technology scouting, an innovation tool for responding to industrial challenges

Thanks to their proximity to researchers, SATT teams identify innovative projects within public research laboratories and select the most promising results. Development projects are then built with researchers and receive investment to produce proof of concept that meets the expectations of manufacturers in the sector. This expertise of SATTs, which act as a privileged interface between research and industry, will promote the emergence of disruptive innovations in line with Servier's needs.

"Thanks to the ability to pool technological offerings from all SATTs nationwide and the involvement of the teams, technology scouting makes it possible to quickly identify opportunities for qualified innovations,"explains Sandrine Gary-Tréhin, head of scouting at SATT Paris-Saclay, member of the SATT Network, and coordinator of the partnership with Servier. She adds: "The close and trusting relationship we have established with Servier has led us to collaborate on this scouting operation. The aim is tocreateopportunities for
partnerships so that the inventions from our public research can become the therapeutic innovations of tomorrow. This is all the more important if they can then be supported and brought to market by a French industrial player such as Servier."

A strategic partnership to promote the results of French public research

The collaboration will increase the number of opportunities for therapeutic and technological innovation for Servier. It will give Servier access to cutting-edge innovations from French research, thereby enhancing the value of France's life sciences research heritage.

"This mission, led by Servier's External Innovation team, complements the many existing partnership projects with research teams in France,"comments Christophe Thurieau, Managing Director of the Servier Research Institute."The excellence of French research gives us confidence in the success of this partnership."

"The SATT Network is delighted to establish this new long-term partnership with a French industrial company to bring the results of public research to market,"said Caroline Dreyer, President of the SATT Network and President of SATT Conectus. "Our actions, offerings, and services enable us to meet the needs of all manufacturers, regardless of their sector, from small and medium-sized businesses to large corporations."
