The startup Yes Technologies receives an award at the ViV Healthtech 2020 connected health trade show, held on November 9 & 10 November 2020
The company was a winner at the Innovation Awards in the Medical Equipment and Devices category.
The startup Yes Technologies, currently incubated at the EuraSanté bio-incubator, will be created in the first quarter of 2021. Its mission will be to exploit the SpiderMass technology developed by the PRISM laboratory, Inserm U1192 – University of Lille.
SpiderMass technology has undergone technological maturation by SATT Nord, an organization that promotes academic research in the Hauts-de-France and Champagne-Ardenne regions.
SpiderMass will provide real-time, accurate, and highly precise answers to questions that surgical oncologists may have during surgery:
Is what I see cancerous, normal, or necrotic? What are the cell subtypes involved?
What is the grade of the cancer? What resection margins should I perform? Are there metastases, and where?
The solution consists of a fiber laser in the infrared range that will cause dehydration of the tissues to be analyzed, resulting in micro-samples that will be sucked up by a transfer tube and carried to a mass spectrometer, exploiting the vacuum inside it.
The spectrometer performs a molecular analysis of the lipids and metabolites contained in the samples, producing spectra that are compared in real time by artificial intelligence software to a pre-established database (1 cancer = 1 database).
" We are extremely pleased to receive this award, which recognizes the work of the PRISM laboratory team and, above all, its leaders, Professor Michel Salzet and Professor Isabelle Fournier, inventors of the technology, as well as the technological development financed and supervised by SATT Nord. SpiderMass is a breakthrough technology for pathologists and surgical oncologists that will further improve performance in cancer surgery, to the benefit of patients ," said François-Xavier Denimal, Doctor of Pharmacy, co-founder and future CEO of Yes Technologies.
VIV Healtech
