PRODYNOV: Third-generation photosensitizer (PS) for the treatment of cancers overexpressing folate receptors (ovary, liver, pancreas) using Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

Description

Prodynov is a third-generation photosensitizer (PS).
It targets folate receptors that are overexpressed in cancer cells of the ovary, liver, and pancreas.
The proof-of-concept conducted to date focuses on peritoneal carcinomatosis.

Under illumination from a dedicated light-delivery device, this photosensitizer exhibits a triple mechanism of action:

  • Fluorescence-guided visualization of cancer cells to enable surgical removal
  • Lysis of tumor cells that are not accessible surgically
  • Activation of the immune system

  • Water-soluble, with higher efficacy than 5-ALA
  • “Pre-GMP” synthesis in three steps, with a detailed protocol for the optimized synthetic route
  • Analytical method for identification, quantification, and purity assessment
  • Method for solubilization and pre-formulation
