The concept of the innovation challenge

An original action-based training program that brings together doctoral students and startups in the field of skills.

  • Five teams of consultants made up of five doctoral students support five start-ups during five intensive days.
  • The aim is for doctoral students to study a problem encountered by entrepreneurs in order to propose a suitable solution.
  • They study a complex and multifaceted issue faced by entrepreneurs (developing a strategy for a new market, developing a new service/product using the company's technology).
  • They work in project mode with milestones, a deadline, and deliverables to be submitted to their sponsoring company.
  • They propose a solution and the associated implementation scenario (human and financial resources, marketing strategy, etc.).

Challenge participants

  • The challenge is open to doctoral students from all disciplines who plan to become leaders of innovative projects, either within their organization or through entrepreneurship, following their doctorate.
  • The audience consists of international doctoral students from the PEARL program https://www.pearl-phd-lille.eu/, which requires that the entire training course be conducted in English.
