The Third Industrial Revolution (rev3), focusing on energy transition, digital innovation, and new economic models, was launched in 2013 in the Hauts-de-France region and has three main objectives:
– achieve a carbon-neutral economy by 2050 by improving energy efficiency and developing renewable energies
– promoting new economic models with digital technologies and artificial intelligence;
– create new activities that will lead to the creation of many jobs.
This protocol will enable, in particular, :
- Promote the strengths of universities, grandes écoles, and other higher education and research institutions in relation to rev3 themes to external stakeholders (businesses, local authorities, etc.).
- Promote a research and foresight program through calls for projects and existing mechanisms, targeting innovative technologies, life and environmental sciences (including the bioeconomy), developments in digital technology and artificial intelligence, transportation and eco-mobility, and the social sciences and humanities.
- Ensure the conditions for an exchange of "best practices" between the institutions and structures concerned and assist in their dissemination and sharing;
- Promote links with the business world;
- Promote the adoption of rev3 among all audiences at universities and grandes écoles by supporting student initiatives, assisting entrepreneurship, promoting, developing, and expanding rev3 actions and demonstration projects, organizing various events, and carrying out joint communication actions.
- Initiate partnerships with other French and international universities and grandes écoles on the theme of the "Third Industrial Revolution."
Through this agreement, SATT Nord is fully integrated into this regional development initiative, which will enable it to coordinate more effectively with the various regional players involved in Rev3 and to launch joint initiatives that will foster the emergence of projects that support Rev3. This agreement provides an opportunity to formalize the interactions between the signatories while ensuring consistency in their actions in support of Rev3.
