"Succeeding alone or together? French higher education and research put to the test of collective action": this is the theme chosen for the 4the Think Education & Research edition, to be held on February 12 and 13, 2019, at Paris-Dauphine University: two days dedicated to higher education, research, and innovation.
Bringing people together, spreading initiatives, and creating a collective all help us innovate in terms of organization, academics, and technology.
But working together also means taking the risk of wasting time and giving up your specific characteristics, or not finding your place.
At the institutional level, federalism is no longer popular. Site policies promote alliances but also clash with competitive logic through calls for projects.
In the field, among teams, diversity in status too often hinders collaborative practices.
However, international challenges, the need for innovation, and technological change are creating a sense of urgency and opportunities: we must act and work differently, adopting new practices and tools.
- So how can we decide between acting alone and acting together?
- What kind of leadership is needed to promote and advance collective issues for ESRI?
- How do you "hunt" in a pack?
- What strategies?
- What practices?
- What feedback have you received?
