COBOSHELL: Automated opening of scallop shells

Description

COBOSHELL technology automates one stage of scallop harvesting by separating the meat from the shell. It combines robotics with optics to cut the muscle connecting the meat to the shell.

 The technology replicates the conditions of manual shelling without compromising the quality or freshness of the product. In addition, the production rates are similar to or higher than those of a human operator.
